That's draws on the road both to the USA _and_ Mexico for Canada in the Octagon.
Which is good, but maybe win a game once in a while?
There have been 10 draws from 20 games so far in this group. So we are
above average, but possibly not statistically significantly so.
Easily had the chances to win both. But could just as easily have lost
both.
Next game is a potential banana peel, because Jamaica are better than
their record shows.
Good call.
Terrible game. Pitch was terrible, refereeing not very consistent, and Jamaica were motivated and aggressive (too aggressive in tackles,
especially on Davies). We had more possession, more corners, more shots
and more shots on target, and Millar missed a sitter. Really can't
afford this failure to take chances any more.
On the other hand, we were missing Larin, Hutchinson (covid ? Injury ?)
as well as Buchanan, Vittoria, and Laryea through suspension. Hoilett
only made the bench after missing the previous game completely. Herdman
made quite a few changes (3 in the back four, 1 in midfield, 1 up front)
and although lack of cohesiveness was palpable, we surived and should
probably have won.
Eustaquio, Vittoria, Laryea and Buchanan will almost certainly start the
next game and be well rested up. The effects of a high tempo, high
altitude, difficult game in the Azteca were definitely there to see for players like Davies, David, Kaye and Osorio.
I would not be surprised by a loss.
But not flawless.
Panama beating the US probably isn't good for Canada either.
Depends. Panama is up next for us, in Toronto, with fans. If we can win
that one (and it is a big if), we would be back on track.
Lose this home game and things look pretty bleak, though the results
elsewhere have been erratic enough, and draws frequent enough, that
19-20 points might actually be enough for third place.
