  • Why did Red Bull Retire Perez?

    With all the noise around the restart and protests, I have not seen any update on Perez' retirement. I haven't done the maths but couldn't Red Bull have taken the constructors too if Perez finished?

    They ended 28 points adrift (the same as they started the race). Even
    the race director could not swing that for them.

    According to P|-rez RB pulled him in because they were worried about a
    possible engine failure which, if it caused him to stop on course, would
    extend the SC period.

    No, RB finished 28 points behind.
