Congrats! It's amazing what we can do nowadays. My mother also had this kind of surgery and she was also very pleased with how amazing the improvement was afterwards.
It's amazing.  While I was in surgery, I was under theinfluence of a
great anesthesia that allowed me to be awake but not care. <G>  I was
awake enough to concentrate on my left eye, watching the tiny red paser
beam as the doctor cut out my old lens the notice how cold and slimy my
new lens was.  I remember thinking "It feels like a cold fish...". LOL
It must be strange to have to different levels of vision now.
It is but on November 12, I'll be getting my right lens replaced so it
won't be too long of a wait.
I saw a doctor at the eye clinic today that said my eye was doing very
well so far.
It's nice to see such bright, livid colors again!  Not to mention being
able to focus correctly and see details.
