Title: Caramel Brownies

2 c Sugar
1 c Oil
3/4 c Baking cocoa
4 lg Eggs; room temp
1/4 c Milk
1 1/2 c A-P flour
1 ts Salt
1 ts Baking powder
1 c Semisweet chocolate chips
1 c Chopped walnuts; divided
11 oz Bag caramels
1/3 c Sweetened, condensed milk
Set oven @ 350ºF/175ºC.
In a large bowl, beat sugar, oil, cocoa, eggs and milk.
In another bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder;
gradually add to egg mixture until well blended. Fold in
chocolate chips and 1/2 cup walnuts.
Spoon two-thirds of the batter into a greased 13x9-in.
baking pan. Bake for 12 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, heat caramels and
condensed milk over low heat until caramels are melted,
stirring frequently. Pour over baked brownie layer.
Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup walnuts.
Drop remaining batter by teaspoonfuls over caramel
layer. Carefully swirl brownie batter with a knife.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out with
moist crumbs (do not overbake), 35-40 minutes longer.
Cool completely on a wire rack.
